Srividya Iyer was invited to the launch of Aire ouverte Kirkland this month. The space reflects the passion and ideas of the youth and team that have worked hard towards it. She is working closely with them and many others in the Aire ouverte community across Quebec. The launch was attended by the Minister of Social Services, Lionel Carmant, the Chair of the session, MNA for Anjou-Louis-Riel, Karine Boivin Roy, the Member of Parliament for Nelligan, Monsef Derraji, and the Mayor of Kirkland, Michel Gibson, which demonstrates that youth mental health and well-being are increasingly being prioritized by policy-makers. This is heartening. Let's make sure that this continues to be the case!

McGill University and the Douglas Research Centre are on land which has long served as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the traditional territory of the Kanien'kehá:ka, one of the founding nations of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We respect the continued connections with the past, present and future in our ongoing relationships with Indigenous and other peoples within Tiohtià:ke/Montréal and across the country.
